Find a quieter place to talk.
Quietful shows indicative loudness estimates by hour from community phone readings. Filter by noise, by whether you can work, and by the specific sounds you need to avoid.
No account needed, to browse or to add a reading. Quietful is built for private, indicative sound readings.
App screens on this page are illustrative.
One average is not enough to plan an evening.
A room that reads 58 dBA at 2pm can run 74 dBA at 7pm. Quietful shows the range and the timing, so you can pick the venue and the hour together.
Look up a venue before you commit to it
Averages come from readings by people nearby. Tap a venue for its full range, its noisiest hours, and what people heard there.

Noise tier, whether there are outlets and how long you can stay, and six named sounds: loud music or TV, an echoey room, cutlery and dishes, loud machines, lots of kids, and traffic.
Add a reading in under a minute
Hold still while the phone samples the room, anywhere from 15 to 60 seconds, then submit it. Only the loudness is measured. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Loudness is one problem. A specific sound is another.
For some people, a specific sound matters independently of overall loudness. People tag the sounds they heard with each reading, and Quietful hides venues where the sounds you pick are reported often.
The map only works because people fill it in.
Every reading is a sample of 15 to 60 seconds, taken by someone sitting where you would sit. The goal is five readings a month, with no daily streak, and lifetime totals and earned badges stay.

The microphone runs only while you are taking a reading, and only the loudness is measured. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Your list of sounds to avoid is saved on your phone and sent with each search to filter results; Quietful doesn’t store it.
